I went to the mailbox today.  I thought it would be a lot worse than it was, but it was fun–invigorating, it reminded me of why I like Winter. I got all bundled up, put on sunglasses to protect my eyes and wrapped two scarves to completely cover any exposed skin. The wind was howling, the snow was up to my knees, I could hardly see five feet in front of me. It’s a blizzard.  School is out today and my hubby is home and so is my girl.  We are supposed to get 15-21 inches of snow. Isn’t that insane?

When I was a kid, a snow day meant we could play outside in the snow. For my kids, a snow day will not mean that. A snow day will mean that mommy says, “wish me luck” when she goes out to the mailbox.  A snow day means staying inside where it’s safe.
