I believe that Nathan and I have discovered a cure for insomnia.  You see, we suspect that I might have sleep apnea. So to test this hypothesis we recently set up a video camera to record my first few hours of sleep.  Last night we watched said video.  I have to admit that I was really excited about it.

About thirty minutes into the video I realized that I forgot to take Moriah to a birthday party.  I felt horrible.  I didn’t want to tell anyone–the girl or my girl.  I was more concerned about how my girl would react, and what the parent had to deal with yesterday.  I still feel pretty bad.

Anyway, watching a video of yourself sleeping might seem exciting at first, but after about 45 minutes we both had fallen asleep.  Not only is a video of someone sleeping really boring, it is also hypnotizing. We did notice some changes in my breathing and my daily energy level is enough for us to continue with our suspicions.

I woke up 4 hours later to a blue screen.  I stumbled upstairs, went to sleep, and was soon joined by two little elves.  I awakened this morning in hopes that today was really Friday and we hadn’t actually missed the party.  Moriah was in such a good mood this morning.  I didn’t want to tell her.  But I did.  She cried and we prayed together, and she forgave me.  The surprise was that, though she is still sad that she missed the party, it didn’t wreck her day.

Moriah is reading in level three books with little to no help.

After two weeks of being cautious during swimming lessons, Noah bravely slid down the water slide…and liked it.
